About Us
In the 1990s, Scott had a mix of hobbies, which included golf, flying, writing and photography, to name a few. Although he routinely found people to fly and play golf with, he also had a steady stream of photography requests from friends and family. After 1999, Scott left the film camera behind and entered the world of digital photography, which opened up a new realm of possibilities. Scott soon found himself working with digital video cameras, which led to various digital editing projects; he most commonly made DVDs for friends and family by combining their photos and video into movies that were then shared with loved ones.
Several factors played a part in Scott’s decision to start a photography business. The primary motivator was the art of photography itself; Scott has always been intrigued with photography and the various techniques used to capture certain moments. With his patience and persistence, he seemed to always get remarkable shots, and with his digital editing skills, preserved the photos in memorable ways. These successes, combined with Scott’s love of photography, kept him – and those who knew him – coming back for more. Scott also wanted to provide photography services, prices and printing options that were hard to find elsewhere. Now, with the support of Scott’s wife Trisha, this is now possible.
As noted, Scott often found himself taking photos and video for family and friends. However, when Scott and Trisha had a child, they discovered how hard it was to take family pictures, even with a remote camera trigger. However, they quickly realized most photography companies had business plans that did not work well with Scott and Trisha’s own personal photo agenda. For example, Scott and Trisha wanted the option to purchase their digital images to use in digital photo frames, computer screen savers and DVD videos. They also wanted to purchase photo prints from professional photo labs, at prices well below the typical third-party rates. They wanted their friends and family, located throughout the country, to have the option to view and order photos directly from a professional printing lab. In addition, they sought professional grade services, to include the studio setting, in the privacy of their own home. However, the “want” list exceeded their available options. That is until Scott and Trisha started their own photography business, complete with studio backdrops and lighting, as well as high quality equipment. They also had the option to buy photos directly from a pro-lab, which is typically only available to professional photographers. Scott & Trisha now provide the general public within Loudoun County the same photography options they created for themselves. As such, they now provide photography services, by appointment only, in one’s home, office, or other desired location.
